The first placement has changed my life forever.

I went to bed pretty late last night.. Watched Merlin again to postpone my thinking again. I was playing a scenario in my mind if I was going to uni today to seek help from my coordinator. But I kinda felt better after talking to mum last night over the phone. Telling her I miss her. In the end I chose not to go to uni today because I can predict what they are going to say.

Instead I stayed lying in my bed. Staring at my clock changing. Got out of bed a few times but went back to bed and pulled the doona up to my ears. It was 3pm and I finally decided to get out of bed.

I did pretty much nothing today. Just stared at my laptop and jump from application to application on facebook.

Had placement yesterday at Ferntree Gully. And I forgot that it was a Sunday meaning that it's the quietest day of the week lol! We did had one case in the morning and we spent the rest of the morning sitting in the branch and reading newspapers.. or like me.. made a paper crane out of their notepad hehe XD and walking around staring at these posters @.@

Had its highs and lows.. my mind went BLANK!!!!!!! I know where every little item there in uni and its 90% similar to the real bags in the truck and every time I open the bag I don't know where everything is!!!!!!!!!!

Omg and I met someone who has the same name as me!!! first time o.0 it was confusing for my paramedics and myself lol and when one of the paramedics said "Leslie Lesley" I don't know who she was referring to and I was like "You can call me Les!!!!!!"

The end of the day was probably the one that affected me most. And I wasn't supposed to go either but I went anyway lol!! I had half an hour to spare so I didn't mind tagging along. Ended up going through past my shift and didn't get home til 6pm. Because we had a changeover on scene and swapped with the night shift people. And had another lecture again in the branch. On the way home I felt like I can't hide anything anymore. I do everything myself and not tell anything to anyone… now I felt like I was in a position where you HAVE to tell. But we can't really tell cos of uni guidelines.

But on the bright side, Ferntree Gully was very welcoming. After one case, we went back and we saw a bowl of lollies on the table. The team manager was like, "there's a supporter that comes and gives us lollies and stuff. And she sent this email to the Minister of Health" *shows the piece of paper with the message that was all CAPS LOCK!!* pretty much says to give us 10 hour breaks and that she went to a shopping centre and got 150 signatures for a petition 0.0 and then there was these biscuits called VoVos and everyone was like "it's been ages since I seen these!!!!!!! Have you had one before Lesley??"

Me: ?????????? *stares at the packet* I never seen it before o.o

Paramedics: I feel old now.. (and one of them was a few years older than me!!)

It was pretty much a biscuit with a thin marshmallow and jam on top sprinkled in coconut. Omg it looked so GIRLY!!!! It's like.. everything was PINK!!! The packet was pink!! The biscuits were  PINK!!

And after finishing a back up case and on the way back to the branch (again lol) heard on the AV radio from one of the paramedics saying that they were treating to a patient who fainted at knox city in/in front/around (something like that) kmart. I'm like "omg why can't we take that case!!!!" (oh well we already went to a shopping centre anyway…)
