Inspection, dogs, swine flu?!?! o.0

I swear it's was just an ordinary day… this morning when I woke up, it was really sunny. White, fluffy clods in the sky~ and I wasn't going to be fooled by wearing my fat winter coats so I wore my summer clothes.

When I got to uni there were grey clouds above me… =.= brr……

But don't worry! It will be sunny again later in the arvo as always! My mind says…

And after my first lecture, it was a little sunny…but it was a tad cold…oh well…

Uni was normal… the lecturer mentioned that next sem... her lectures aren't compulsory (unlike law and ethics, its important to come to every lecture) becuase her lecture is 8am on tuesday!!!! (NO!!!!!!!!) then she shattered our hearts by saying that she had a glance at our timetable and told us we don't finish uni til 6pm (*meltdown* sob~~~!!! how am i gonna survive?!?! feel soo sorry for those that live near my hometown.. ) then I went home because the real estate manager was coming for an inspection. I just tidy… hide some dirty clothes hehe the unit is a bit dirty.. -.-" I let the Oscar inside cos it was cold. I changed into something warmer… then the real estate guy came. First thing he saw was the dog lol he knelt down so he can pat Oscar.. Oscar took a look at him, stepped back and got protective and barked. Lol… does the usual leaping around when he barks (Back off before I jump and scratch on your shoes. I may be tiny and old but my teeth are strong!) lol..

Me: Oscar!!! It's ok!!!

Manager: it's alrite.. I love dogs. Come here so I can pat you oscar~

*watches Oscar walk and stand at my feet*

Manager: aww.. he chooses mummy first.

Me: -.-"""""

He was walking around, asking if anything was ok. Everything was fine… the landlord came last week to fix the stuff so it was all good.

Manager: … there's only one bedroom here yeah?

Me: err… there's two…

The manager walked to the hallway and went to the smallest room.. which was the study… (-.-""""""") I could feel the reaction when he turned the light on and see my messy table with books everywhere… then the now common question popped up: "what do you study??"

I seem to get different reaction every time I say "paramedics" lol…

And then he was like.. "oh.. doesn't it get… like.. too much?" I'm guessing he's referring to like.. blood and guts

Me: …no…

Manager: how old are you??

Me: 19

Then the convo looped again.. then I had to explain to him that I like this course… then he explained what course he was doing etc etc.. it was awkward… then he said that he normally doesn't give rent to students. But that's fair enough.. a lot of the students he had were 'indians' and write down the form that one tenant is living there when there is in fact. 30 or something @.@ he gave the rent to me cos he thinks that I look trustworthy so I guess I was lucky ^.^

Then after that, I wanted to explore and wanted to take Oscar for a walk. I took the leash from home and put it on Oscar.. as always.. he ties my feet up =.= I planned out my route weeks ago.. I just didn't get a chance to see what the neighbourhood was like… I took the phone, the keys and off we went.

During the walk, I noticed a lot of small dogs… first dog we saw was a white shih tzu behind the small fence just staring at us… it was across the road from us so it was alrite. I had to keep tugging on the leash and drag Oscar… finally we pasted it out of the dogs sight and then I hear small tapping

*tap tap tap*

I turned to see where it was coming from and it was another dog across the road staring at us! But this time.. it was roaming around..

….is that a stray?? I see the collar and stuff but.. is it lost?

Oscar and I walked across the road and I was trying to get the dog to come.. but it kept backing away when we got closer and eventually it went to a door to a house.

……oh I see how it is… it's a free range dog that goes wherever he pleases…. -.-

Then I turned around and see a father carrying his daughter on the path I was on staring at us… (me and the 2 dogs..) oh snap…

I walked away but I had to cross another road and I was standing on the little traffic island in the middle and tugged on the leash and –

*thump* lol.. Oscar tripped… when I pulled… and I looked to see why Oscar stopped in the first place. That dog is coming closer to us!! I picked up Oscar and cuddled him and backed away from that dog more… and I looked across the road to see the father and daughter watching us… geesh.. we must be entertaining them..

I walked away and put Oscar back on the ground and kept watching if that dog was following us… but it wasn't… its odd.. that dog is treated like a cat and go where he pleases…

Made it back to our route and continued walking.. there were more small dogs as we went past.. but they were locked up behind a door… and the day was slowly coming to an end and getting darker.. and colder… and made it back home..

I rang mum as usual and she was like "IF YOU FEEL SICK, SEE A DOCTOR!!! THERE'S THAT FLU GOING AROUND!!!"

Me: haiz.. *glare*

Mum: *continues to nag about the swine flu* -.-

My temp was a a little bit high than normal.. and during my lest lecture today I looked in the mirror and my cheeks were like.. pink!!! When I have rosey cheeks, it's an indication that I'm sick..

When the news of swine flu came around, it was more of a joke cos it's a new media topic and raises paranoia.. us at uni didn't really care. Now after that phonecall I'm starting to see reality as the number of confirmed cases rose higher and higher… man.. it would be terrible to get that flu before exams!

“I have no fear on death. I went through it a thousand times”

It's week 12 and for the first time, THIS Tuesday is less stressful. It's also presentation day so we're listening to groups presenting their 1.5 months of hard work.

Last week, one of our lecturers said that we MUST turn up to [law and ethics] lecture because her lecture kinda 'merges' with hers.. (yes the 2 lecturers have like.. offices next to each other but how on earth that professional practice relate to law?? o.0)

This morning I was talking to someone next to me and we were wondering what the surprise was…

Then when the time came, our lecturers came in the auditorium followed by another guy dressed up in paramedic uniform… 0o0oh a guest speaker…

He introduced himself and before he started his speech, there were like.. 3 ppl and one of them was carrying a medium-large camera on a tripod (and I was sitting at the back back so I can have the powerpoint)

…………………it's not everyday that every guest speakers speech is being filmed….

Guest speaker: *sees the group coming* oh and this is being video recorded and [camera girl's name] has been following me and my wife throughout this process and hopefully will become a series

Then he mentioned something along the words of "terminal illness"

……fair enough… so this is "the Last Lecture" live to us students.. but with a different story… so that's the surprise…

I was feeling a bit tired so I was partially paying attention… then it was question time…all sorts of questions were asked.

"….do you have any regrets?"

"how did you feel…."

"did you go through the 5 stages of grief?"

"was there something you and your wife disagreed?"

"If there was another treatment, would you accept it?"

"what are your medals?" (he was wearing several medals.. like the army ones)

"do you believe that there is life after death?" (part of the answer is in the title)

Etc etc etc etc etc the questions went over an hour.

And all this was being filmed @.@ but I was sitting at the very back so I won't be seen~~ I remember at one point I looked to my left to see where my lecturer went and I see a red recording light at me >.< but that's cos some of the questions were from guys near me..

It was an interesting speech… it was interesting how he said that the topic of death and dying is more of an enlightenment, it may be uncomfortable and has this habit of making ppl running away from the topic but that will just create the fear even bigger. Which is true.

Hmm other than that… I've sorta noticed that a lot of ppl at uni did something last weekend. What I mean by that was hanging out with friends, drinking, party etc etc …. Mine was the karaoke event last Saturday XD I still have more videos to upload.. like.. 5 more I think. It was my very first karaoke event I've been to… I was invited once or twice but I had to refuse cos back then it was me moving houses and stuff. (or something like that) but it was good ^.^ tho the songs I remember weren't there.. and I had a mental blank.. like.. I know the song but I don't know the name of the song hehe I will never sing "I kissed a girl" ;P

Had dinner afterwards. The water that was served tastes weird to my liking.. I could smell the chlorine and stuff. Lol I don't normally smell water before I drink… I just had the feeling that something wasn't right XD and Vu must have been on the high cos I've been teased lots XD Saturday must have been his clumsy day cos he spilt water on himself twice. Then I threw water on him as punishment

I had fun tho. I enjoy taking pictures and videos. Maybe I'll sing next time… next time…

I've seen most of the peoples presentations. They were all really really informative compared to ours.. @.@ most did it on a powerpoint and did creative ways such as adding a youtube vid or made an animation. Some did a video like ours.  When it came to our turn and when we played the video, the room was really quiet XD and when my nephews first footage came up.. they even waited on him to finish the sentence..  at the end, there was lots of "Aww~~" and giggles here and there lol. I went to my lecturer after that on the way to my seat and asked:

"you didn't cry again did you??"

Lecturer: no, not this time

We didn't finish the lecture til 6:15pm.. but it was worth it cos we were all excited about the groups experiment that they did, as they did "ppl under the influence of drugs and alcohol", and we heard they 2 of them got themselves drunk and did an experiment XD omg it was soo SOO FUNNY!!

Video 1 (before they drank…)

Interviewer: say the alphabet

L: …….the whole thing??!?!

I: yes…

L: HER FLEECE WAS WHITE AS SNOW. MARY LOST HER LITTLE LAMB~

T: where'd she go?? *looks around* (lmao!!!)_

Yeah.. they were drunk XD

Learning to grow.

On the opposite side to the previous blog, the day after that I got something out of a lecture. Tuesday is the day we all hate the most cos it's a 9-6 day, we were kinda fed up that our last lecturer turning up late…but in the end.. it was worth seeing.

She played a video clip called "The Last Lecture". About a guy who found out he had cancer and he only had months to live. He was a well known lecturer in an American uni.. and he gave his last lecture. We didn't watch the whole thing, cos then we watched a video of Oprah with that lecturer again. His speech was inspirational. Because he accepted that he was going to die. And he was living his life with no regrets. Spending time with his family and spending time he loves doing. Everyday.. he believed in hope. And my lecturer made a very good point. That those that think of suicide do not see hope. Hope is like.. the element that keeps you……hmm.. alive in a way. Me trying to avoid that lecture last week failed cos it wasn't on suicide.. that's going to be tomoro… it made me think that…. a lecture on suicide won't be that bad after all.. I'll go and check it out. Tuesday I was sitting on the edge of my seat watching that video XD

Today was finishing off the group assignment. Finishing.. yes its good.. .but I'll miss the weekly group meetings. We supported each other. I think this week we learnt more about each other than all the other meetings. Watching the interview videos, one of the guys did himself so.. we kinda got his experience on grieving. Lol.. we were watching it and we were like.. laughing XD they were like.. bloopers hehe kinda felt bad to laugh at the same time too XD yeah most of us that made the interviews were laughing and having a joke about it. I just had my nephew so it was that bad.

The group finally worked out my past when they watched my nephew's video. But.. that was ok…while I skipped a lecture just to try and save that video on a cd, I was accompanied by 2 other ppl. We were just talking. Random things. Except I was semi-concentrating cos I was focusing on the computer.. and partially listening. Have to remember next time that 2 ppl in that group are experience and can see detail.. -.- I went to bed at around… 6-ish this morning and I panicked when I realised I was already late for the lecture.. and when I turn up to our meeting today (again) I did try my best to look normal… well.. I did felt normal.. I was awake.. which was good. And then she went:

"Aww~~ you look so sleepy!!!!"

……omg how can she tell from 3 metres away?? My puffy eyes are permanent…
